UPDATE

seems i have been "excessively overcharged" according to HM customs

spoke to them this morning and they seem to think that there has been some kind of calculation error and that the most it should be ....

VAT + any handling charges

so unless i have been charged about £35 handling , its incorrect

2 options , pay for parcel and claim back off customs or get arselforce to return it to customs for re-evaluation

best option ??????

Get it and sort it out. Label provides details of what to do. Parcel force just pay what they are told and reclaim it. As an example I just paid £26.04 for a parcel costing (ahem, what it said on the label!) $150 + $58 postage.
