Edit: I had ... now sold

I have nice steel 'cross fork for sale. It's a straight-leg canti-only cro-mo fork in black with an uncut, 270mm long 1" threadless steel steerer. It currently has an ill-fitting crown race on there - I'll leave it in place: if it works for you then great, if not it'll slip off easily and you can bin it. No SFN installed as I used it with a Profile quill-type steerer wedge, which could also be included.

The story is, they were lying around a mate's LBS for many years. A customer ordered them custom made from a framebuilder (identity long forgotten) but never came back, and I took them off his hands earlier this year to enhance an old basic Paul Milnes crosser. I'm selling that bike with the original fork so this one is spare. I'm tempted to keep it for a project as it's a lovely fork, but realistically I expect to be working with 1 1/8" parts so this can go to a good home.

As you can see from the pics, the legs are oval at the crown and around the canti studs, then round towards the dropouts. No identifying marks on the dropouts, and A2C is 395mm. They're not superlightweight but some of the lard is in the thick steel steerer so you'd lose a bit by cutting it down. OTOH if you need all the steerer you'll be glad of the solidity! I've asked my friend but he can't remember exactly what steel they're made from. I'd estimate the weight to be around 850g (definitely sub-kg) so it's hardly a lardy jump fork either.

NOW SOLD.

Cheers, Gareth.

Sorry, yes they are 1" steerer forks. I've edited the subject and text now. Thanks for pointing it out.

Anyway, all prices are negotiable so make me an offer. I'll be especially inclined to consider it if you take the stems/seatpost ;-)

Cheers, Gareth.
