crazy...

The bus is definitely moving over to the right, watch the part after where the video artist goes around it. As I pointed out, the road becomes a cycle lane on the left as it continues, the driver is getting over to the right hand side.

Basically the bus has moved into the cyclist as much as anything else.

I've had another look, screengrabbed it and had another look again:

All I can see is the bus following the road - it looks like the lane moves over towards the right if anything.

The cyclist is, I'm fairly certain, riding brakeless.

The bus is indeed pulling out to the right (you can see the angle of the side of the bus relative to the lane division)...

Again, as above, I don't see how it is.

The perspective makes it hard to distinguish in that picture, but notice how the bus ends up parallel to the pickup, and note the angle of the pickup relative to the direction of traffic. The bus is certainly pulling out.

This is the junction in question, travelling east-to-west:

I think the "pulling right" is actually distortion from the wide angle lens, the bus is going straight. The cyclist is in the outside lane which is blocked by the right turning truck - by rights he should have stopped there and waited for the inside to be clear before pulling in.

In this shot if you look carefully at the window line and the back of the trucks pickup, the bus is not parallel to the truck.

This was wholly his fault, compounded by the fact he doesn't appear to have a working brake on his bike, which I'm think is technically illegal in britain.

The bus was in lane

the rider thought there was a gap that would remain eternally open for him..against a bloody big bus and a stationary 4x4..there wasn't a gap to complete a pass

the rider was at fault and as the commentator on the vid states..that was stupid

had I been the bus driver or 4x4 owner I would have been right royally pissed off and been justified in feeling so

I rode to and from work on London streets for the best part of 10 years, on this street in fact.

Who's fault it is is kind of irrelevant, as there was only one person who was going to get seriously hurt or worse in this situation.

As cyclists, we have a responsibility to read the traffic and act accordingly to safegaurd ourselves and others . This tool did not read the bus drivers intention correctly, and the fact that the guy in the hatchbck was holding back should have been a big clue.

However, it looks like he's a courier, and they seem to be a different breed to the rest of us. :D

From quite a way off - a good while before the cyclist gets there, you can see the bus moving.

As others have said, the cyclist swung in from overtaking queuing traffic, to try and filter past the pickup truck.

The bus had been moving for some time, though, and it's hardly reasonable to put much blame on him for not being able to spot a cyclist moving so quickly, and then sweeping in from that position on the road.

On the plus side, looks like nobody got hurt - maybe the cyclist (mainly) and the bus driver got a poignant wake-up call to what can go wrong (not that I think the bus driver could have done much at all to avoid that, given the speed and angle the cyclist swept in to that vanishing gap).
