Crank arm length

Re:

It only makes a diff if you have sensitive knees. 5cm longer or shorter crank length diff to my fav 176mm never feels right to me. Best to accurately replicate the same saddle position to pedals set up on a road bike as your ATB.

Re:

I'm not particularly tall, always had 175 on the ATB and I could always get a good position.

Got so annoyed with fiddling / adjusting seat height on road / CX bikes that I ended up going for 175 too.

The only downside may be more toe-front wheel overlap. I doubt you
are going to lean and pedal around the corners like a loon as if it was a criterium or use it on the velodrome.

Sadly, there is a real lack of 172.5 cranks on the ATB side which would be suitable to standardise across bikes.
