ive always thought they were cool

But then I built a wheel with 3 cross ss/db spokes on the drive side and fibrelyte on the non drive side.....that looked funky....till i broke one and couldnt replace it :x

I remember an old wheel builder back home used to solder the twist so as to stop them from creaking.

snowflaked wheels.....

.............ARE Cool & good to see on a retro steed as well as being strong & light,
never had any creaking probs with mine. Iv'e got a gut feeling that radial spoked wheels will go the way of Clark Kent pineapple radial hubs sooner rather than later .

what do you mean!?

oh, and snowflake is cool, but im not so sure about radial, an old fsr i had came with a radial front OEM and it was pants...

i used to have a radial on the front with a combo of snowflake and radial o the rear .....until some scum bag stole my bike...those wheels took me ages to build....my only concern was that the flanges may not take the unusual forces put on them but the ended up being fine.

Damn right they were - I had a White Industries Ti hub on a Mavic Ceramic rim with snowflake spoke and nice red nipples.

The only front wheel I've never managed to buckle with my somewhat heavy handed riding style.... I've bent numerous standard spoked wheels and 3 USE seatposts using that self same style

Noflakes like snoflake

Rated as being a lot stronger, hence used by many tandem users, but heavy due to longer spokes. Can't beat a two cross standard lace up on the rear and radial on the front though. Always thought they looked a Monkeys mess really, but then I'm a minimalist!

cool as!

Been running a snowflake on my '04 Spesh Bighit DH without any problems, gets a lot of comments especially from the youngsters.
