Cook Bros. F-Type Crank Mold

eBay don't give a shit as long as they get there money on the item Betsy right in what he saying plus the crank has the gouged bit in the back of it plus the traingular bit on top of the thread hole which you don't see on this mould may be it's some sort of experiment or r and d but you'll never prove it

Think it's a stamp may be an r and d project the work you have to do to get to finished crank ie milling CNC etc don't think it makes sense the front side not far off it's the back

It's not CNC it's forged from a die.. like this.. you can even see the flashing created around the shape

The section where the thread goes for the pedal is built up into a flat surface because they will not drill into a dome surface.. the forging then has the flashing removed, it's linished, then drilled, then polished.. the only face which is machined / milled is the back of the square taper.

If you’re a big Cooks Bros Racing fan then be my guest and but some CBR paper weight! It’s wrongly listed, but I assume seller has zero technical knowledge. As discussed it’s a half finished crank that was never finished for some reason or another - might have been used at trade shows to show the various stages of the manufacturing process. Not worth the money if you ask me, but it might tick someone’s retro box!

But at that price, you'd need some provenance to show it's from the factory, not an apprentice playing around with casting a copy of his crank arm in a foundry.
