Cook Bros E2 cranks???

Yup- well done scant! F cranks were the 'forged one'. Looks not quite a sweet as CNC billett cranks, but as you say, a helluva lot stronger as you don't cut the grain around the square hole, more 'smooth' the grain flow around the hole. Why I'm still riding '91 XT cranks on my main MTB, when the CNC wonderments from the '90's have been suffering. Forged defo a lot stronger. The CBR/ RSR were prone to taper stretch so there were a lot of returns. Why decent ones now are very thin on the ground. .. and yup, mid 90's vintage, maybe '95 or so. But I gather probably cooks themselves weren't too keen on the design either as they never publicised it too much. Won't say a thing about increased margins from faster production processes. Credit to them though, they kept it in the US, and when I tried to make moves to look into buying the company, it wasn't for sale to me as they wanted it to remain in the US. Thats cool by me :wink:

You tried to buy the company??? Frickin awesome if so! What is it that you do exactly? I've seen some of your Yeti stuff that appears to place you near to the factory/riders, and wondered then how you'd managed to get a hold of it.
 
ahh, no , I just design aircraft parts, for a few 'I'd have to kill you if I told you' type things :wink:
To say I tried to buy the company could also mean I wasn't offering enough! Everyboby has a price! I'm just a regular guy, who values cycles over plasma TV's and fancy clothes(or any TV for that matter). I'm lucky that I know a few good people, but I'm just a regular guy. . .
