Computer audio equalizers ?

I don't know a lot about computers, but can anyone recomend a free or add on so that i can pop a CD into the puter and change the sound while listening to it.....like a graphic equalizer

most media players ( i assume the CD is being played via one of these) come with a EQs built into them.

personally i use winamp for all my musical media needs.
