Colour themes - green with red?

The combination is shocking because red and green are opposite in the spectrum, but then I personally like orange with blue and they're opposite too. And yellow isn't too bad with purple either I guess.

you see, quite restrained by comparison, even though a juxtaposition of opposites.

But then some of the best marriages are like that. But also some of the worst, regrettably.

Nice but wrong way around. Would need to be bright orange with blue highlights.

Like I said earlier... looking for something "bright" to counter all my other conservative bikes (and my nature!). Eg:

2007 Felt Virtue

2004 Avanti Aggressor

91 Stumpy (no longer SS, now back with mostly orig components)

So as you can see all rather bland...

Green w red is still winning out.

Cheers.

EDIT: Just to complete the picture:

what is it they say?... 'Red and green should never be seen'? seriously though re the comment about being opposites on the colour wheel. true, but the thing is when colours are like they they are referred to as being 'complimentary colours' and actually work quite well together.

I've got red and green highlights on my mainly grey and black Y33 and I quite like it. I also had a 'Palmer' metalic green Kona (not with any red) but it was very nice. (No photos of my bike unfortunately, but here is one from bikepedia.com to give you an idea of the colour.)
