No, anything thats longer you just cut to the correct length.

Depending on the length of the thread, you might need some additional thread cut in after cutting down the steerer.

Luckily, we have an amazing engineer here on the forum who's done the same thing on my brand new De Rosa fork.

If the steerer is only about 5 mm or so longer, you could get away with simply using a headset spacer.

Edit: The same guy is also able to lengthen the steerer for you, so you just need to find a perfect set of fork legs .
