Colnago Build Up Dilemma

Two projects on the go. First is a 93ish Master Olympic which I originally which had planned to build up with 9 speed Record kit (I'm not too much of an originality stickler) for a nice day rider. The other is a Rourke which was to be 8 speed Dura Ace. I have pulled together most of both gruppos.
However.
I have read somewhere that these Colnago's came with DA as standard which if true gives me a bit of a dilemma. Keep the Master as a total Italian job which does appeal, or go for closer to the original with the Shimano which I have to say is a beautiful set of components. I sourced a very reasonably priced pair of NIB DA 7300 hubs which are now built up with silver H Plus Son rims and are stunning. I can't justify the cost doing the same with NOS Record but I have got a set of Campag lower end but still very nice wheels.

I would really value some opinions on all this and avoid the faff (or fun depending how you look at it) of swapping it all around later.
What do you guys think?

the modern day Campag Athena polished silver 11 speed groupset would look ok on the colnago if you wanted to go modern. But Italian frame has just got to go with Italian components even down to Cinelli bars, stem, selle italia/san marco saddle etc..

Re:

I'm going to resort to the 'its your bike build it how you want' gambit.

I recently built up a Basso, and as I had never used it before, I decided the chainset should be Campag. It has turned out to be a good choice, both visually and functionally.

There are times when original specs are useful, my opinion is that this is not one of them, plus, who is to say that any given frameset was not upgraded by the original customer.

I also like the idea of DA on the Rourke. Mine has SRAM Force22 and keeping the weight down really is beneficial.

Re:

If it were me , I'd decide which were to be my 'best ' bike , then choose which would be my normally favoured groupset .
At the end of the day , who cares what others may think of your choice , you will ride it and get pleasure from doing so .
My personal choice would be Colnago/Dura-Ace , FWIW .
