Colnago Master Lux, Well I Never...! 😲

Canuk

Old School Grand Master
Spotted this locally, it's a Lux version of the Gilco steel tubed Master. First time for me. Unfortunately (but it's quite common) someone has tossed the original Colnago Precisa forks for these kinda ugly Look carbons. Nice kit though, Record carbon 9, and more importantly... Cheap!

The seller is insisting it's a aluminium Dream Lux, who am I to argue, it's definitely Gilco steel though, with chrome rear triangle and Colnago panto lugs. I'll have that thank you!

Has anyone seen one of these Master Lux in the wild? I mean, in the metal? I'm beginning to doubt they exist myself until I am hands on with it!

I found one, at an estate sale. Can you tell me anything about it? It feels too light to be steel but idk. It’s a 9 speed so I’m guessing 1990’s it had a Dura Ace real shifter and it dated to 1996 thru 2000. Seems to be a rare bird as I can’t seem to find just a ā€œLuxā€ I find ā€œlux dreamersā€. Anywho thanks for your time.

Definitely steel. Apart from anything else the tubing sticker tells all - acciaio is Italian for steel.
