Coast to coast

Just wondered if anyone had attempted a coast to coast ride and had any tips on route & equipment, seriously contemplating this for next year.

I've done a few coast to coasts and an end to end.

I can highly recommend the Sustrans C2C route. I've done other off road routes too.

The Sustrans one appealed to me too as a friend has a guest house in Whitby, as good a destination as any.
