I have a 25.4mm DMR post in black, quite burly tho!

Incidentally I bought a new pair of M750 non-disc hubs on Mavic A119 rims for my CX / tourer last year on eBay, IIRC they were 135 delivered and very nice they are too. They will take a 28-37mm tyre, so that would possibly be a good set to look out for s/hand :?:

good luck, Al

I'll pass on the DMR stem (not a fan TBH... I ended up donating my DMR stuff to my brother ;p)

Thanks for the info on the wheels. I looked at recently finished eBay auctions and missed out a front M750 laced onto Mavic A319s that went for £30! Doh!

still wondering why you're considering two different rim diameters?

I was under the impression that 26'' wheels are generally stronger than normal 700c, and 29ers are generally stronger than normal 700c rims. I've never managed to have a normal road 700c wheel stay true on my for more than 4 months of commute (8 miles daily on average/bad road), so I thought this time I'd get something solid.

Is there something wrong with with this thinking?

Thanks!

"Is there something wrong with with this thinking?" Yeah there is :?

Get a pair of wheels built by a reputable wheel builder, I do 200 miles a week 75% road & 25% off road with 700c fitted to a Galaxy and I dont spare its ass

Luckily this was bought to my attention my deadrats a bit earlier, but worry not - I've been straightened out!

Plan is to have M750 hubs laced onto Mavic A719 rims with DT Swiss Comp DB spokes and Sapim Strong spokes on the drive side. We have a good wheel builder in Norwich who is even recommended by other shops who will be putting it together :)
