my new build is the first time i've had first hand experience of hope hubs and they roll nice and smoothly with one extremely irritating trait - the clicking freehub.

is this just a hope thing or is there a method i could use to try and quieten it down to a dull roar as its stupidly loud!

Thats the Hope thing, just think of it like a Swiss watch
When I roll up behind pedestrains it works like a bell

Yep, both the pairs of wheels I've had with Hope Pro 2 hubs have sounded like a tractor. Must admit, I like it. Sound of quality imo.

so in essence its the mtb equivalent of an aston martin exhaust note?

it does echoe nicely through the forest i must admit!!

I'm not a fan of it really, though my new XT M770 rear hub makes a racket as well.

I've quietend two HOPE Ti-Glide's and a HOPE Mono (again with Ti Freehub as they are the same) by cleaning it all out and using Rock n Roll super slick grease, pawl work perfectly and it's quiet :)
I only bought it for my fork rebuilds but use it for far too many other things now
