Don't say patience and autosol, I've not got enough of either :D

Trying to clean up this oxidized aluminium Claud Butler to move it on.
Ive tried autosol but it's not as good as this Lucas Metal Polish

but it still takes ages

Shall I strip the stickers off and just go at it with a DA sander and very fine grit paper ?
It's pretty heavily oxidized

that looks very much like oxidation under the lacquer. you will need to remove the lacquer, then remove the oxidation with 600, 1000 then 1200 wet and dry, then polish it. a huge huge job.

without wishing to sound like a snob, quite possibly not worth the effort on that frame.

if you just want to tidy it to sell on, quick rub down of the lacquer, primer, paint.

You need to get the lacquer off first. Use paint stripper - Nitromors works. THEN use a metal polish. To protect your hard work use a quality car polish.

Agree, sander might take you backwards giving you more work. Nitromors and clean off with a damp brillo pad. Finish off with metal polish.

Nitromorse will only work if it's laquer, if it's clear anodized you will need Drain cleaner or something with acid in it.
