ideally '80s or younger, 531 or equivalent sort of weight frame for light Summer touring. budget range £50- 200, depending on condition & how complete it its. frame alone also fine as can build up, but preferably straight, with sound headtube & bb threads. the perfect frame would have threaded eyelets for a rear pannier rack. going away to Spain this Summer & desperately need to sort this asap! thanks.

anything from 53cm to 56cm. it's not so crucial, as can build it up and/or change parts like seatpost & stem if necessary. also a mixte frame will make mounting it easier than if it were a diamond-shape one. thanks.

I have a ladies' Peugeot bought 25 years ago but seldom used, and not used at all in last 23 years so it is in good working order and there is very little wear and tear. Main colour is lilac. Drop handlebars. If interested I can be contacted on 01417622061 or 0798652957. Would accept £30

is it 531 sort of weight tubing, brazed with lugs? mixte-shape frame with split top tubes is what we're after. any photos?

Re: Claud Butler Majestique/ Ladydale, Dawes Galaxy mixte/..

I have for sale my Falcon Olympic lightweight ladies' tourer with 531 main tubes and a 21" frame (it actually measures about 20 1/2") dating from the early '80's. It has what were then considered wide ratio touring gears: 48/36 front rings with 14-28 on the rear, which will get you up most stuff, and Shimano 600 alloy derailleur. Brakes are alloy Weinmann centre pulls with dual levers. GB stem (and, presumably, handlebars). There is a high density foam sleeve on the handlebars (nicer than Grab-on) that now needs bar tape on top to smarten it up. Alloy wheels and hub (front is the original Normandy LF, rear is a later replacement). Tyres are 27 x 1 1/4, probably Michelin World Tour, still rideable but old. Saddle is a leather faced ladies Madison. Quill pedals. Chromoplastic mudguards.

There are threaded eyes for a pannier rack (shared with the mudguard stays which worked fine)

One of the really nice features of this bike compared to many apparently similar ladies (ie smallish) frames is that there is no toe overlap and the bottom bracket is nice and low.

The paintwork on Falcons always seemed to be a weak point and there is a lot of flaking/surface rust but the frame is straight. It is rideable as is but has not been ridden seriously in quite a while so needs a good going over before touring. The photos are 'as is' -you can see it needs a clean.

I am in Horsham, W Sussex. You are welcome to view or I will box it up if you arrange a courier.

£120

If you are interested in a bar bag I have one for sale separately.

Any questions, please ask.

Re: Claud Butler Majestique/ Ladydale, Dawes Galaxy mixte/..

o, sorry hadn't spotted your topic reply in this thread, so please ignore my message.

I have a Dawes 'ladies' Galaxy 531 mostly complete- I stripped it down as a project over the winter but its still sitting in the garage, the paint is very tired, 27in wheels 2x5 speed I think, drops and down tube shifters.

Happy to ship that lot off for £70 in the post or let me know what you need and we can sort it out from there?
