Are they made of cheese?

I fitted some to some shimano arabesque calipers a few weeks ago as a temporary fix and they've all but disappeared, already! The front pads are worn down, almost to the point that the grooves have gone and the rear pads aren't doing much better.

I know they're cheap, but really?

I suppose the old adage is true, buy cheap buy twice...

Wow i normally find them ok. Thats real fast!

They are organic so wear faster than sintered but im shocked. Take them back for a replacement or refund?

I bought them one ebay so it seems like a bit too much hassle to try and chase a replacement through postage. It wouldn't be an indicator of worn rims would it?

Ohhh i thought you meant disc brake pads.

I have used the clarks pads although years ago, the 'cartridge' ones that come with an alloy carrier and spare set of pads. They were good for me.

To check rim wear, put a good steel rule across the braking surface to check how concave the rim may be.

Im nto sure it would be that, im guessing you commuted using them?

We fit a lot of them and very rarely do they go within 6 months and thats only normally in extreme use case - 100+ miles a week.

Well, I've done probably 160 miles on them since fitting, so less miles than the wear accounts for...

Also, the rims seem fine, they're MA40s so pretty hard wearing. Must just be cheap compounds in the brake block...

And obviously the fact that I ride at such a ferocious pace that any block would wear down quickly trying to stop me...
