plenty of nearly new condition frames around for that money, honestly not worth the bother, about 100 squid to fit a new tube then would need a complete repaint and decals, cost of repairs with delivery to and fro = 250 on top of purchase price.. :cry:

A great example of why steel is better than carbon At least you lived to tell the tale because that's quite an impressive impact to ripple the lug itself!

Its always difficult to give advice in these circumstances and going from photo's, but, IMO I don't think you need to be concerned. Its sounds like you have, or will replace the forks. I would replace the bearing cups which isn't a huge cost. That way you can be sure the bearing surfaces are parallel top and bottom.

Now someone will come along and tell you its scrap!

Yeah it was so irritating as well, a car just pulled straight out in front of me when I had right of way and I couldn't see the damage when the car initially stopped.

Old steel frames have a lot of inbuilt redundancy when it comes to how thick the tubes were

The main think to look out for is actual cracking as that will have finished the frame off........I've ridden worse and straightened out worse in the 70's

Also guys the fork is demaged too . So I will be have to sell it in steel price only.. shame. when i was buyin this frame it was dark and seller said "it is perfect"...ehhhhh
