Cinder Cone budget build

Fancied having a go at building an older bike and had an itch that never got scratched back when I was a youth in the early 90’s in the form of a Cinder Cone.

Started with a very rough frame/fork/stem combo from a user on the forum (cheers Paul) and a doner bike with an STX RC groupset I put this together

Appreciate it’s not period correct but I’m happy with it and it rides as well as I ever hoped so I’m more than happy. Might upgrade it as I go along.

Anyway, pics speak a thousand words as they say so here’s a few of its progress.....

Re:

Then on with the last coat of 2k clear and start the rebuild.

I’d also painted the forks and stem solid black by this point and coated these with clearcoat too
