Cilo DH bike

Re:

With the difference : The ATZ swingpro worked very fine : you could adjust the stiffness and geometry of suspension, no lateral flex, and you could lock the suspension with a thumbshifter !
And victory in the Kamikaze downhill with Perakis and woman DH world champion with Bonnazzi ! :D

Re:

God, people have kittens these days if you mention retrofitting disc tabs. I can only imagine how much extra leverage these things must have created.

Re:

Looking at some of the early attempts at bicycle suspension I often wonder "have the designers never seen a motorcycle?". :?

Here is a 1990 trials bike, much like current ones, it has a mono shock rear end and telescopic forks:

Re:

If this bike had been built on a Swiss-made, silver-brazed steel frame, instead of Japanese, welded aluminum, I would own it already.
Unfortunately, the seller is not interested in phone calls, emails or shipping outside of Switzerland. His asking price is 600 francs, for your reference.
Enjoy,
The Kid

From what Ive read Perakis was less complimentary :) .Apparently the wheelbase was greatly extended due to the 2 adaptors on each end.If you look closely you will see the hubs are an extra 6 inches each way to accomodate the 2 attachments.Adding a foot  to a stock rigid frame`s wheelbase is not a good idea!

Looking at the photo I doubt it would even be 6" total, let alone to each end. The rear looks maybe 3" longer and the front maybe an inch at most.

A little suspension, a little extra wheelbase and that fork offset, probably made for a very stable bike which wouldn't have been a bad thing on the less than technical, occasionally high speed courses of the time.

Whats with the thumbie :? Is that lock out or an attempt to make for some adjustment during riding ?
