Thanks to all that have replied to this post and this one viewtopic.php?f=12&t=339125, I think the frame dates sometime between 1980 and 1983.
I have dug out some of my favourite bits that I have been keeping for a special build and have started assembling the bike. The 50th anniversary group set can stay where it is, the front mech would not have fitted (braze on type).
The wheels are Campagnolo Record hubs, 28 hole Mavic SSC (blue) rims, the front laced with the Sapim Aero spokes, the rear DT Swiss DB spokes. I fancy trying some Veloflex Roubiax tubs to give a smooth ride.
The gears; the rear mech is a 1977 Campagnolo Super Record and matching Super Record front mech operated by some drilled out record levers. The block is a Dura Ace 13-23, gold coloured running with a Connex chain. A pair of Super Record track pedals with some re-chromed 50th anniversary toe clips mounted on a Super Record chainset fitted on an Omas Bottom bracket completes the drive chain.
With a set of 3TTT Superleggero bars on a 3TTT Record stem, I am still considering the colour of bar tape, the cables will be black. The perch will be a recovered Cinelli Volare SLX mounted on a Super Record seat post.
Nearly forgot the brake set, these are to be Campagnolo Cobalto.
Most of these are NOS or in near mint condition, time to get back to the spanners.
Will post some photos when she is finished and when the rain eventually stops.
