Should be fine without a tensioner. Singlespeed teeth on the chainring and a well fitted chain would do. Just no rock gardens or dropoffs

Mine fell off with this set up but that was with pezzy OE suntour worn ring

Another reason I want to limit gears. really wanted to do it it single speed as its flat Manchester city but she said no, no, no

you should be fine as long as it isnt too bumpy

ive got my mrs on a singlespeed on the basis of " well are you going to put the gears on " :twisted: i didnt want her just using the lowest gear all the time and now she has no choice

Yeah, I've not looked back since I did my commuter, even a trip round teh block testing my Muddy Fox for possible gears on my new en i stuck in one (of 21) gear anyway.

I reckon gear shifters are like the zoom button on camcorders, even if ya know to leave it alone ya will still fanny around with it with no real result!
