Chas Roberts RoughStuff MTB Tourer Frameset *SOLD*

Roberts

I am surprised that you put this on eBay whilst looking into the possibility of packing the bike for me.
Your last post has turned this thread into an auction!
Ah well!

Hi Joss

I wasn't aware you were seriously interested - you'd only asked a couple of questions over the general forum & hadn't in my opinion expressed a definate interest. Perhaps a PM giving your address for me to check posting would have given me an indication??

I'd certainly never have put it on ebay if I'd known you were serious about it.

My last post was just giving people an update - didn't know I'm not allowed to do that. I'm not trying to turn it into an auction on this site & will remove it.

Loovely!

Very tempted but must resist so I've decided it's 'way to small' even though I'm also 5´11"... and you wouldn't ship it!

Get down the LBS and snaffle a bike/frame box off them. They're usually glad to give them away.If they have a spare dropout brace it's a bonus!
Get some plumbers polystyrene pipe wrap from Homebase,, a tenners worth is easily enough, and some brown packing tape.,
Cover the frame in plumberswrap completely, so no paintwork is visible. Do the same with the forks. Make sure everything else in the box cannot rub or scratch owt else.
Stuff the box with loadsa scrunched up newspaper so nothing can move.
Contact www.interparcel.com and await collection. delivery will be £15 ish
Job done!

Just thought it was quite funny how the guy was prepared to do a world tour on the bike, but sounded terrified at the thought of sticking it in a box and posting it!

I'm not sure I'd want to do a world tour on something that nice. It wouldn't make it past the tea and hobnobs stop in Dartford.
Matt black with no logos would be my choice.

Certainly not scared, more a case of can't be bothered! Besides, wouldn't want to send it un-insured - which bumps up the price a fair bit.

Sold now anyway, all without trawling round bike shops in the rain trying to scrounge a box!!

A fiver for £500 cover...
A good bargain there for someone; a Roberts frameset for £300!

Blimey, some people need to get over the fact that not everyone can be bothered to try poncing a box, buying a load of pipe lagging, spending time delicately wrapping it & then potentially waiting in all day for a courier to arrive!! Some people in this world are inherently lazy. I'm one of them.

I'm more than happy with the £340 I got for the Frame, Forks & Headset thank you very much. All from the comfort of sitting on my backside in the warm!!

Now, XC Pro BB, Deore DX Front Mech or Syncros Cattleprod stem anyone??!!
