Charity Auction: Overburys Pioneer 19" (21" top tu

Aww man, this is hard!
I wanna do right by my baby. It's like finding home for a favourite pet... or getting your daughter married off!

In fact, I'm finding your enthusiasm infectious... I kinda want to keep the ol' gal now. I didn't know I was riding a retrobike, it was just my (lovely) bike. I never realised my old bike was so desirable... Well, I did for the first few years, when it attracted plenty of attention. But now, most folk don't appreciate the beauty I see (the fact I had draped panniers, barbags, muffs and assorted caggage might have something to do with that).
But, with a more sober head on, I know she would be better off with someone who would give her the TLC she needs.

You seem like a good bunch and I'm struggling to decide who should have it.
Makster had a good idea. He suggested I should auction it off for charity. Sounds like a bit of a plan, d'ya reckon?
Be good to raise a bit for CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia In Children), I have a nephew who's going through the mill with Leukaemia.
Dunno how to make this fly, but I'm sure you have some ideas. Go via ebay or something informal on the forum?

If you are gonna bid on this, you'll need a bit more info. I'll take some better photos tomorrow and post 'em up with a better description.

If its going to be done up for auction, i'd love to see it done properly.
LGF is a good person to start with, but promise me you'll not rattle can respray it :P

Great idea (and very generous too!)

Good luck with it.

Only the finest rattlecan job (heck, I've only been doing them for 20 odd years)!

or at least strip it for a £70 bob jackson (maybe more as its two tone)

CLIC

In Somerset recently there was a mega 24hr mtb relay to raise funds for CLIC which we rode for...(called the CLIC24)...be great to be lapped next year by this Overbury's all resorted & Pioneering once again...just a thought / idea! All the best with the auction

You get the mud for free.

So how do you reckon I should proceed with this auction then?

BTW
The rear Deore mech is the newest bit on the bike... less than a year old. The pads on the Raleigh hub brake are pretty much worn out and the freewheel is about to die I think.
Any questions?

Get it done up and auctioned for charity. It's going to need plenty of time spent on it to get it to its former glory.

Out of interest Gadj, has it taken a hit on the front as the forks look a little bent/pushed in around the crown? Maybe the angle of the pics.

Phil
