This is my old titanium bike that I changed to 650b. The frame can fit 26x2.5 tires. When switching to 650b I had to go down to a 2.1 width tire and low profile lugs. It has just enough clearance on the RS SID fork to work. The increase in bottom bracket height was minimal with my setup. I recently added a dropper post and I like the bike overall.
I once did a 650b conversion on an early 90s steel stumpjumper with a ridged fork. I found some cantaleaver brakes with longer reach that I could adjust to make the pads reach the rims. The end product wasn't as good. I had to use 1.95 width tires on that one.
