Chain slipping

aren't IG chains fairly specific to a few shimano chainsets ?

i know when i ran an HG chain on an IG chainset it killed the life span of the teeth on the chainset.

is your old chain an HG chain ? and do you still have it ?
coz you could try the old chain and see if it still slips.

just swapped chains to a brand new but low quality z chain, problem is worse if anything, so gonna change the rings

Your cassette looks a little worn especially on the smaller sprockets. When you can see burrs on the teeth it's usually an indicator of wear.

As for your chainrings, let's just say that my Dad has got better teeth than on those ones.

That outer also looks pretty well worn out. The middle looks okay but the inner looks a bit ropey too.

How wide is the chain you are using? That TAYA one almost looks like a 1/8th inch BMX chain rather than a 3/32th MTB one.

Your 6,7 and 8 sprockets are quite worn - I wouldn't expect them to be smooth with a new chain. Your middle chainring is the main culprit though, that it quite badly worn. When you put load on it the chain simply ramps up the worn teeth and pops over the top.
