U-Brake Placement on the chainstays because of the sheer power created in use caused Tubing to Flex, We all learnt quickly the brake force increase created by the U brake was fantastic but in the U.K at a sacrifice for mud clearence and Chain Jams.

Frame builders/Designers quickly moved them to the Seat stay out of the way, Dave Yates wanted the Prestige tubes on the seat stay, huge weight advantage but at the cost of flex, the X-Brace solved that problem. U Brake- X Brace..jpg

The Foundations for this model had already been laid, namely the "Tushingham Works Replica", the Brainchild of Lester Noble to be built By Dave Yates.

With the Evolution of the Brand And the Formation of a totally new Company, Orange Mountain Bikes wanted a Flagship Model.

The Blue Print was already there, the tubing was avaliable and with some subtle geometry tweeks from a master craftsman, The Formula Was Born.

With a Matching Fillet Brazed and hand Filed Tange Prestige Fork to match, along with a Race Colour that would forever live in Infamy.
