Cassette removal

One of these for a fiver??

Will my cassette tool fit that for installation??

Will it go straight on or do I need anything else to hold it on there?

Or there's an HG50 7-speed for £11...

top one is a freewheel and will not fit, second one is fine and should come with everything you need.

If the cassette feels 'loose' after fitting you may need:

it goes betwixt freehub and cassette prior to fitting.

Cool... thanks chaps, I'm fractionally more enlightened now.. bit frustrating that the job inevitably involves one more part that I can't get locally and have to wait 3 days for delivery (again)..

after 10 building 10 bikes or so , you ll have all the tool you need , well nearly .

Whether you put the tool in a vise or use a QR to hold it in place and an adjustable wrench, you're still going to need one chain whip.

Guess I'll be needing a spacer then

At least the new rear cassette fits.. going to chip over to Halfrods later for some lube and see if they have a spacer..

they may just look at you blankly and suggest only 9spd is available.

I could with a giggle.. it's been a crap morning so far..

I'd order online (prefer to, in fact) but paying more for postage than goods niggles a tad. .

Just ordered one from here and the total, including vat, was a princely £0.90 including delivery..

Wonder if my credit card can take the strain. .

But the gap looks more like 3mm. . . is it normal to fit more than 1??
