looks like a freewheel, not cassette.
you need a freewheel remover and abig spanner or bench vice.

you wont need the chain whip. Are you able to return them?
edit just seen cyfa's post. He beat me to it, but shimano are still splined, not 2 pronged. The splines will be very close to the cassette tool, just a gnat's difference. You may even be able to force it on for a one-off job, but risk breaking the tool.

that freehub does use a shimano cassette remover - get an old cassette remover and bash it in wiv' a big 'ammer. The splines get bunged up with shite.

use a QR to hold it in place and then use a spanner or quality adjustable and a large pole to remove.

ah i didint know it was either freewheel or cassette. what does a cassette go onto then? ➡️ :?: ah i also though you had to remove the lockring with a two pronged tool, i think i used to do it with a screwdriver and hammer :? i think i only ever had one type of wheel like that so not so clued up

some of the freewheels have a separate lockring which means you can undo them to change the ratios or whatever.

this one has both Shimano cassette splines and holes for a freehub removal tool

That probably means the wheel I bought will be useless so I may just as well buy a new set of rear rings from CRC??

Wheel looks like this

To be fair, I may need them at some point in the future and they weren't that expensive (and look pretty sturdy)..

A gnats.. indeed it is, frustratingly close. . lol..

after bashing my 15 year old cassette tool into a freehub body last week, its seems to fit cassettes a lot better...

It was a BIG hammer BTW.

One of these for a fiver??

Will my cassette tool fit that for installation??

Will it go straight on or do I need anything else to hold it on there?

Or there's an HG50 7-speed for £11...
