i had a black spatter krackatoa , maybe the same frame, bitd
it was a nice springy steel bike , but as it was a halfords special
it got called the crapatoa by everyone but me ,hohoho :roll:

Quite a few similarities to an early 90's Diamond Back frames on these Katmandus.

Nice job for a first build though. As others have said, a 5 arm crankset would look great and the XT M737/9 rear mech is a bit new for the frame.

I'd hesitate about using aluminium bolts on the front brake especially. They have been known to shear off during heavy breaking. And get some crimps on the end of those cables!

Me too. Snapped the top tube on mine. Heavy as hell IIRC.

ordered some red crimps and the chainset hunt is underway fellas
thanks for the positive comments they really help and Im looking forward to getting the Raleigh Summit started . Already enquired to TF tuned about getting the forks serviced and new valves fitted.

A long time has passed and finally (due to health reasons) Ive sorted the look of my Carrera

going out to test it tommorow
