So chaps, today is a momentous day for the bike as we know it has gone to the bike shop for some jiggery pokerey and hopefully in a month (likely more) it will be ready.
Work to be done:
- The proper fork will go in using headset reducers which came from the US
- a black 1” King No Threadset is destined for the build
- the BB hole for the cable guide will be sorted and guide installed
- the loose cable stops in the frame are to be sorted of which there are at least 3
- the brakes will be sorted
- the gearing will be done
- new chain
- remove old post and insert replacement
Etc etc …
I was really hoping that this would be the finale and last update but, although she is looking fab, it isn’t.
So much work and money has gone into this revival but I’m not happy with the fork. The stem rise is too severe so I’m looking for another (if anyone can help please do!!). A few other adjustments to do also.
That being said, it’s likely closer to how it was than it’s ever been so here are some shots against the same knackered wall which seems apt as the bike was knackered when I got my grubby hands on it.
