Kimnatamy

Retro Newbie
Earlier this year purchased this bike in the colour Green, after a bit of research was informed it was a Mk 4 professional so restored to iconic colour of Lagoon blue. All parts campagnolo nuovo, large flange hubs minimum effort required just a little polishing ,which is not to every bodies taste but it’s my bike .

Very nice. I'd suggest that's actually a carlton giro d italia, the lugs are slightly different on the pro, still one of Carltons finest. Lovely build.

Very smart. There was some discussion on what it was over in cyclechat, the ex Carlton boys who did the respray thought it was a pro. Did the giro have a brazed on rear centre pull hanger?

Some did some didn't, the lugs and geometry say giro to me.

Very well done on creating what I think has to be one of the best looking racing bikes ever and I bet it goes every bit as well as it looks. I well remember with a mixture of frustration and joy the Carlton brochure in the late 1960's featuring their racing team with these stunning looking lagoon blue bikes. And the frustration was that my pocket money was never going to remotely go the distance for one. Although I'm by and large pretty good in not adding anymore bikes to my small collection I would certainly be tempted to get one of these. Superb!

Really great looking bike. Not that it makes any difference really but i wonder if not the chainrings at least, are Triomphe from the early 80`s and not Nouvo Record. Correct me if i´m wrong of course, it will put my mind at rest.
