Re:

Rather nice just a couple of things for any potential buyer

1) The forks are not original, which is a shame as it came with nice sloping crown chrome forks.
2) Much more mid 80's 85'-86'
3) This is pretty much the same frame as the Raleigh Sirocco (Nice had one myself BITD) as these 'Carltons' were basically re-badged Raleighs.

But all in all well worth the asking price IMHO

Thanks for that - substantially different to the Caeltons of 1975?

Yep, It's the lack of the full sloping chrome fork that kills the sale. Even in 1986 when that was made by Raleigh (Carlton closed it's doors 5 years earlier) it still had the unfashionable but glorious full sloping fork crown. Sort of made the bike what it was really!

The Kermesse of my day (70's) was a different fame made in Worksop in the very attractive lagoon blue and white, again with the all chrome fork. BITD it had mudguard eyes and was more of a general purpose sports bike.
