Carlsberg - is it any good?

Carlsberg is just another member of the Northampton brewed 4% club, pretending to be a foreigner.

If you can get actual Peroni, not Nastro Azzuro, you are onto a winner. Good luck with that though.

In Italy it's about 70p a 75cl bottle, Nastro is about 85p!!!

Years ago when I toured the Tuborg factory in Denmark, they told a story about Tuborg workers drinking in the Carlsberg factory pub. When they where discovered, Carlsberg said that they should admit their beer was better than Tuborg. The guys drinking said "No....it's just that our wives' won't suspect us drinking".

Anyhow, I've got the fridge stocked with Carslberg, Tuborg, Boddingtons and Guinness.

Stella is weak as nats piss nowadays, anyone can drink it and at least it has a little flavour despite its Luton roots.

Carlsberg export used to be sweet, Tuborg is 4% festival munter lager, bland as Budweiser.

English Carlsberg is awful.

Not drinking too much of their Danish stuff either TBH. Tastes more and more wrong the older I get.

They do have a range of non-exported "craft" beers which are OK though.

McEwans champion or Riggwelter all the way if your looking for something purchasable in a supermarket. Anything in a can tends just to be fizzy water, I like something with a rich deep taste :)

Predictable.

Preference for expensive premium lager over volume brand. Check.
Real ale bores getting their neb in. Check.
Use of the word 'nectar'. Check.
.
not quite sure where you're coming from. For me I think the cheap lagers are fairly crap, I could drink some of the better stuff, but that's still not up to the quality of a cask ale. Mmm ... can taste that real nectar of Bradfield's yorkshire Farmer just thinking about it.

the reality is ... all lagers are wee wee

Morris Men, a Brass Band, beer from the cask, a tithe barn................... perfect.
