Cantilever brakes on suspension fork

Candygram for Mongo

Dirt Disciple
Hello,
I'm working on turning a kona mtb into a suspension cyclocross I suppose you might call it. I know suspension and speed are not the best bedfellows but I'd like to give it a try and I've got this far and would like to see it through.

Here's a pic of the build so far...

Now my problem is that with the racer style brakes that will be fitted I cannot use standard v-brakes as there is not enough pull so am forced to use cantilever.
My cyclocross bike gets around this with a stem mounted canti hanger like so..

... which works well but due to some basic law or another this will be no good with suspension brakes since the up/down action will send the canti brakes out of whack.

The fork is a bomber 1, which appears to have a screws on the front of the crown which would be the perfect place to put a canti hanger ...

..look! there it is!

So, my options as I see them..

1. Try to track down a bomber1 crown canti hanger mount
2. build one - or find someone capable of doing so
3. use v-brakes with a travel adapter thingy so I can use v-brakes with racer style levers, last resort since I have canti brakes here and don't have v-brakes or adapter or lots of cash.

Bearing in mind that I know a rigid fork might work better and solve my problems, any suggestions?

Good luck. They are hard to come by, and people hoard them

You could use a widget style brake like a Paul Crosstop, Strange, IRD, etc.

Yeah just use diacompe 287v vbrake drop bar levers.

Also for offroad you want your drops way up with the seat, and you'll prob want a much shorter and higher stem or you will be too stretched out.

will the front wheel take a disc? if so you could use a mechanical disc upfront with v-brake on rear with the DC levers. Or road STIs with a BB5 road caliper up front and canit's on the rear?
