Cannondale SM 500 frameset Gulf colours

This little project of mine has to go to fund project Ti.
Had it resprayed in the classic Gulf blue and orange.
A few nicks around the back of the chainstays and one 20mm scratch on the top tube (fell over and bar end caught it)
19.5" centre to top, 18.5 standover. Comes with 1" Dia compe headset and a Hope seat clamp.
£125 + £15 p+p

Mmmm very tempted... love the colours!

But the question on my mind is.. what forks to go with the frame and colouring. Not much of an expert on dale 'etiquette' - what would people recommend?

Do you have a pic of it 'from behind' as it were...? Interested in the brake hanger etc. Also, do you know what year the frame is?

I tried tracing the frame number but i found it a bit ambiguous.
Between '91 and '93 i guess?

looking at the catalogues here: http://www.vintagecannondale.com the SM500 appears between 1989 and 1991 inclusive. Can't seem to open the 1988 one.

its not 1988 with those dropouts,1991 or 1992 i would say.frame number would tell you.

It doesn't appear in the 1992 catalogue if that's anything to go by...it becomes the M500 at that point. Not sure what the difference is between the sm500 and the m500 as that one looks just like my '92 M500 down to the 1" head tube.
