Cannondale SM 500 frameset Gulf colours

Yeah - I've been looking at the '91 catalogue and the reason I was after a picture from behind is that there's something puzzling me. At the back there's looks like an extra 'bit' of frame.

In the pic below, I've circled where I think the canti cable hanger is, high on the seat stays, but there looks like another piece bridging the seat stays further down...

Any ideas - or is it obvious and I'm being daft (likely!)

Maybe it was an M500.... It was dark blue with silver graphics.

Frame ends on ebay tomorrow.

Of course it is! (now feels stoopid! )

In that case, my limited research dates it at '93 or '94 as they look to be the only years within the span of the head badge ('90-'96 - assuming it's the same as the original) that the frames had both the Force40 mount AND the cable hanger...

with all this reasearch I've just found out my M500 is a '93 not a '92!! Finally found a match for the paint - it's called "Purple with Blue-Pearl Hyper-Highlight" :shock:

I reckon this one's a '94!

Looking at the catalogues, the '93 and '94 models had both the Force40 mount AND the canti hanger, however the '93 had a Tange headset and the '94 had a Diacompe Aheadset like the one fitted....

Provisionally planning to paint match a stock rigid fork, add understated black anno parts and trim with the M737 mechs, SS-7/987s and XT thumbies I have lying about... What do people think - any comments/suggestions?!
