Cannondale M700 / M200 Frames

Hi All

Quick question can anyone let me know what the difference is between the frames :
Cannondale M700
and
Cannondale M2000

Or are they the same but were built up with different components?

The M2000 is a 2.8 Series frame and the M700 is a 3.0 Series.

So would It be right to say
The 2.8 Series frame is better than the 3.0 Series or is it the other way around

depends what year they are
the higher end frames filtered down as the high end ones went 2.8
3.8 caad 1/2/3 etc
so the could be the same frame or could be different

serial numbers might tell

i'm no expert despite what me dad says

the 2.8 is a lighter frame but only a few of ounces
from the 95 cat
3.8 series is 3.8 lbs
3.0 series is 3.5 lbs (beast of the east frames )
2.8 is 3.1 lbs

i dont think any of the m/f series frames are bad tho

I believe and Im sure my son can put me right here.
The 3.0 & 2.8 infers the weight roughly speaking, the
2.8 Series being the lighter (the better) :?

So this is the M700 Frame I just bought that I am wondering about....
I used to have a M2000 complete bike with XT and the Frame looked exactly the same.. except it had m2000 on the frame.

So the question is did Cannondale use the same Frame for these m700 and m2000 frames?
