Hey guys,
a couple of weeks ago I found this '97/8 (?) Cannondale M700 in the classifieds for 120 bucks. I actually wanted to buy some kind of road bike for the upcoming tour but then I stumbled across this orange-ish thing and bought it. I slapped on some 26x2.00 Schwalbe Marathon Tour Plus tires for better protection and performance around the city, replaced the disintegrating rubber grips with some more comfortable (and less flaky) ones, adjusted the brakes, cleaned it, and now it's finally ready to roll. It's got LX and CODA components (hubs). I had to replace the CODA Brake handles (yanked off a screw) by 1986 Dia Compe ones I stumbled across in the bay. Not sure about the position of that lock though. Looks a bit weird.
So what do you think? Any suggestions for improvements?
PS: Obviously there's a big fan community for classic/vintage MTBs. What constitutes your enthusiasm?
Best,
