Cannondale M1000 forks

Hi, I am putting the finishing touches to the renovation of my M1000 which I have had from new. It was a real mixed bag in terms of makes of components and I have ditched sun tour gearing for XT. It's not a retro resto , just looking to revamp bike for another few decades use... The bike came with the pepperoni forks which got recalled and replaced with Rock Shox quadra 10's. I am aware that these are a little 'entry level' and now that I have NOS XT 11/4" headset bearings I would like to upgrade them . What periodish forks would be a good upgrade. make / model etc I would like the new forks to be serviceable in terms of replacement parts etc . And stick with 1 1/4 if poss. Thanks

There were a lot of forks made in 1992. The best choice would be a RockShox mag 21. I think the best fork of those years and not for an huge price

Fluffychicken is the goto guy for MAG 20/21 advice in England, US guys say good things about Hippytech. There is a lot of info on rebuilding and tuning online. Good documents in the archive section here as well.
