Cannondale Jekyll front mech problems

So after getting hold of a Jekyll a little while ago I sorted an XT front mech (band on type) and went to fit it today.............................................it sits way too high above the chainset and I'm now thinking I need a b/b mounted front mech??

Does anyone have info on what these bikes came standard with???

Please help......its doing my head in

anyone??? :|

Ive tried trawling through the pages of Google images but none of them are clear enough in the crank/bottom bracket area. :(

What year is it? Had a 2001 Jekyll 700 and as far as I can remember it was a standard band front mech, defo not a BB mounted type.
Will try to find pics.

Thanks Loxy :D

It looks like I need an older style front mech as the newer type xt one I have is too compact and actually needs to hang further down from the clamp (if that makes sense!!!)

at least I now have a direction to go in 8)

Is it because you have a top swing rather than bottom swing type mech?
Had a similar issue getting the right type for my San Andreas :?
