Well...........if theirs one thing we are very proud of ( besides our ability
to consume A LOT of Alcholol and STILL operate heavy machinery ) as Canadians, it Hockey!
Yah, I know, this is a Bike Forum...........but THIS is the Olympics, and they are DOWN TOWN Vancouver, and I am working on a project ( The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel ) that is directly overlooking the Olympic Cauldren.
so....let just say that the people on the streets of Vancouver in the last 2 weeks, have been so full of positive energy, so full of "Country Pride"
and this isn't JUST US!!.... we have people from all over the world in Vancouver right now!!!
While I was walking to the "West Coast Express" ( our commuter train to my house in the Sub-Urbs ) I walked past about 20 Sweede's
They where flying Sweedish Flag, singing, dancing, and they looked so proud it even made me smile at em'
Back to Hockey!!
This is it folks!!!!!..... We as Canadians wanted SO BADLY for the Gold Medal Game to be " Canada Vs. Russia "
We all secretly wanted it to be a repeat of the " 1972 Summit Series " where it was Canada Vs. Russia.
Now.......it's Canada Vs. USA, which is JUST AS EXCITING!!
and I will be Working Sunday....Down Town....in the thick of it all!!!
I think I can smell a SWORM of fellow Canadians screaming and yelling
and singing" Oh Canada " when I finish work.
