Can someone identify this Orange for me?

Got this today and other than knowing it's an Orange I know nothing about it.

I think it's all original or at least close to it. It has mainly Deore bits, has cantilever brakes (with canti cable bits on the frame and under the stem). I think the Pace RC35 forks (non-working) are not original.

It's a 19" centre to top seat tube and has a 22" top tube

I have a frame number so if anyone knows if this is traceable then a point in the right direction would be much appreciated

Here's a few pics of my phone to assist with the ID

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks and have a good christmas and new year :D

Defo a Clockwork as it's made from Tange Infinity. The decals and frame features point towards a 1989/90. Get the frame number and we can cofirm the date

Thanks for the replies

Frame number is A89124322

Can the forks be fixed or more to the point are they worth fixing?

19" is as small as I'd want to go to ride so it looks like the next project has arrived.........yay

December 89 was when the frame was stamped... There was a recent similar black clockwork in the readers wives/owners bike section for comparison

Page 2 titled ... My first restoration... Clockwork

I would paste the link but being on an itouch I havn't got a clue how too

Thanks guys

OK now I know what it is I now have a dilemma :(

Do I restore it back to original or do I do a modernish version with v brakes (I've never used cantis that actually stopped you) and working front suspension (I have some Marz MX Comp air forks with a 1" steerer) rather than elastomer forks?

I want to use thumbies and maybe use modern retroesque wheels

I suppose I need to do some soul searching

Of course it is on the cusp of being too wee for me so I might not be able to ride it

Nice Clockwork but if you run bouncy forks they have to be Pace - it's the law!
There is a member on here who will service them for you - justbackdated I think?
And for that era, should be cantis, not V's, if you want to run it fairly original.
Still,it's your bike so it's up to you - just enjoy it. If not, then sell the frame to me!! :D
