can anyone help identify this bike please?

I bought a mountain bike frame recently and made it up into a commuting bike. I’ve not had any luck trying to identify the model/year etc., the frame had Scott on it and was in a bright green and white colour scheme, though this may not be the original paint scheme (I’ve had the frame shot blasted and repainted black now). It’s steel of some kind (no stickers other than the Scott), cantilever brake mounts and curving rigid forks. Just wondering if it’s a decent steel frame or just a cheap one really, can supply pictures if it helps.
