Can Anyone Help ID This GT Custom Butted 7005 Frame?

Hi everyone,
New member here—thanks for having me!
I’ve got what’s probably a fairly basic question, but I’d really appreciate your help.
I’m trying to identify my GT bike. It’s an aluminium frame with a sticker that reads:
GT Custom Butted 7005 Heat Treated Aluminum
The serial number appears to be SAS6I071O or SAS6IO710—I’m not sure whether the last characters are zeros or capital O’s.
Any info or pointers would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know there isn't a way to identify the model from the serial for this period, but the serial tells us it was made August (I think!) 1996, so possibly a 1996 model but more likely an early 1997 model.

The last four characters are all numerals, so your frame number is SAS6I0710
Could be an Avalanche, or a Pantera. However we'll hopefully be able to decipher these better in the future.

If you have any photos, that could help, if it is painted, or not, many models had paint style of finish per year which could help ID, or narrow it down. Plus the cable mounts and welds can help too!
