Can a PayPal F&F payment be recalled ?

It can be reclaimed if it's a failed transfer.

However a gift transfer if correctly made cannot be rescinded. That's the whole point of the payment protection side.

Once completed. if the payment has yet to be claimed or is pending for any reason then you can still cancel.

It all depends whether the wrong email address is being used by someone! Fingers crossed nobody has registered it. Also the seller should send you the goods whatever happens. It shouldn't be your loss it should be the sellers.

I’m at work until 7 today so once I’ve finished I’ll drive over to someone’s house with a PC and see if I can cancel as I dont have that option on phone app or mobile site. Fingers crossed

Yes, it is all down the the status of the payment. If completed then you can still ask PP to help but they cant actually give you money back. Hopefully like above its not a PP account and will be left unclaimed.

Does it show as 'Completed' ?

Thanks people of retrobike. I’ve logged into my PayPal from a PC and cancelled it. It now shows a refund to me is pending. So hopefully I should get the money back I think

The seller has helped too. And it was just a mistake so nothing scam related. Just bad luck. My post wasn’t intended to name and shame as didn’t ever think it was intentional just a wrong letter in the email.

On a un related note it’s been eventful tonight as I’ve also been removing a pedal from a crank arm and managed to slip and make quite a large chainring sized hole in my wrist that I’m telling myself doesn’t need stitches but I think it does. It’s going to leave quite a chainring shaped scar for sure
