Good luck with that one They are a nightmare to get working.

Not a nightmare to get working but, let's say, a minor hassle, one or two epithets and some failed attempts before getting the correct Syncro inserts actually inserted. After that it's just a question of patience to get the adjusting barrel on the RD tuned correctly.

I've run Campagnolo Syncro with Chorus 1st. generation RD since 1988 - not the smoothest gearbox but it'll last a lot longer than anything Japanese from the same period - just doesn't wear out, however mistreated
