Sorry you've been burnt before, but a PM or a question along the lines of 'was the wheel built up previously?' may have been the more polite way of going about it. I fail to understand why you were insulted by any of my comments, I was intending to point out that you seem to have picked up on my mistake in describing something in a different way to which you would have described, but not anyone else - it seemed like you were picking on me, and that made me sad.

Why make it a PM? Oh, of course, that would make it private so that no-one else could see it. I'm sorry I forgot that transparency was not to be the order of the day here. Still, looking at the last series of responses, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised with that looking back at it in retrospect.

Ah, but it is only 'worth' what someone will pay for it, no? The perceived value will be wide-ranging, but as I am writing the ad and it's my rim for sale, it makes sense I decide what that value should be - I set that value at £65 initially.
This is indeed true. We'll see what it sells for - if indeed it sells at all.

There's another nasty little personal snipe - you just can't help yourself can you? You do have something of what appears to be a naturally sarcastic tone. Unless of course this is not normally what you're like at all and it's all been "put on" just for this thread and my benefit, which would make all that personally insulting too. Still, I suspect anyone else that reads this thread will be able to make up their own mind about whether you're the sort of trader that wish to transact a deal with.

If you really, really believe I wrote that ad knowing full well that your definition of NOS was not the same as mine and that I went out of my way to mis-represent the item and dupe someone into buying an item with an inaccurate description then I am frankly astounded. And I'm not even being sarcastic now, although I am a sarcastic person in real life, you can ask either of my friends, I also have a dry sense of humour, and I enjoy long walks in the Countryside and books.

And sarcastic isn't always nasty, it can be fun, and funny, plus you know, its the Internet so don't get offended so easily.

Ah, I just read the 'what state is retrobiking in at the moment' thread and I think I get it now.

What were you saying earlier about "Friday's being slow" ? Looks like someone has got an awful lot of time on their hands. Now you're stalking me on the net..... nice. Are you an axe-murderer too? Did you google me too to see what you can find? Good one stalker.

All you needed to say was "sorry, my mistake, I'll correct that" and nothing more would have been said - let's not forget, you're the one hiding information about something you're selling here. I guess sorry just isn't a word in your vocabulary. What it is really boils down to imho is a lack of respect and personal responsibility.

So, hiding sales information and stalking other forum users posts. What a lovely "sarcastic" character you've got going on there...

The good lady wife is watching some rot on telly and it's not bed-time yet, so I can spare a little time to bump my for sale thread yeah.

It's not that I can't say sorry (there, I just said it/wrote it, so it must be in my vocabulary somewhere), it's just that honestly, I don't think I need to, I didn't hide anything, I didn't include the fact that it had previously been built into a wheel, because, in my opinion, it didn't really matter. Plus you know, you aren't in charge of the internet.

Stalking? Nah, I had previously commented on the thread around the same time you had, and I knew I kind of recalled this odd passive-aggressive, argumentative yet easily offended kilter to the proceedings.

And axe-murderer, surely no one does that any more, surely psychotic mass-murderers these days are doing something a bit more tech-minded?

Re:

This is getting silly boys. The beauty of this forum is that like minded people with a common interest can form a harmonious community.
For what my opinion is worth NOS should mean new old stock, in the packaging, not used.
Where are we going with the personal insults?

Please call a halt.

Re:

NOS or A1 condition or excellent condition or built but not ridden I dont care. If i had 60 quid id buy it as I want it, the photos show condition, no rim brake has been use on it.....i dont have 60 quid therefore it will find the price someone offers and the seller accepts

......if you dont want it leave it...everyone on here knows what they are doing and if it doesnt suit they wont buy....and have pleanty of opps to ask questions before parting with cash....rjsdavis pester someone else...leave the for sale thread be!

Correct, it was at one point built into a wheel, but never used, perhaps I have used the term 'NOS' incorrectly, not as incorrectly as some, but I appreciate there may be some confusion, I will therefore alter the descriptor to NBHFPOAALCBSU (New But Has Formed Part Of An Assembled Larger Component But Subsequently Unused).

I suppose plain old 'New' is better, except obviously it isn't new, it's old, so maybe 'Unused', though it was 'used' to make part of a wheel, which in turn was used.

Tricky innit.
