Hi guys,

I've got a Campagnolo 53t chainring and got no idea what its off! Any idea's from the Campag' buff's ?

It has Brev. Campagnolo & -53 - AS - written on it :? Will eventually try to sell this ring but need to know what type it is first.

Its not 144BCD.

Hi Ian,

It looks very much like the 53T which is on my bike - 135BCD, Chorus (or possibly Athena) with a peg to stop chain jamming between spindle and crank/pedal arm, should front derailleur not be properly adjusted :( - from 88 - 90 or thereabouts, if I'm right.

NOS go for about £25 on Ebay - I've just bought one :D

Cheers
Steve

Re:

Ian,

Looks like a cheap Campag copy - post it over and i will pay for the postage; it is no use to you as you are too fussy.

It's a bit hard to tell in the pic, but it looks like the chain pip is at the same place as a bolt hole, in which case it's a c-record chainring, designed for the crank with a hidden bolt hole. I don't think there were any other cranks with the hidden bolt design.

lovely, i see no lifting pins which were on top level cranks for 9 speed ? and I agree your ring is from Record , as by the time chorus hid the bolt it was 10 speeds

If its new and unused then 20 plus postage is a reasonable price. If it's used then it would depend on how much

Its used but the teeth are in pretty good nick for its age, I'll never use it as I haven't got that type of Record chainset, so you never know someone out there may need one. Maybe I'll list it on fleabay as 'super rare' and start the bidding at £100
